Audio messages are in English.

This application uses the services of converting text into voice provided by Android system. Usually, even in other countries, cellphone only rely on this service for the English language. However, there are TTS (Text to Speech) services that make conversion to other languages. These applications are not part of this program  but are available in some languages for download at Google Play. Note: This is a 3rd part software and can be charged by the developer.

The step count is wrong

Remember to adjust the sensitivity of the pedometer. Try lowering the sensitivity to the lowest possible value to avoid double counting of pulses. Even with the various safeguards to prevent distortions in the signal from the accelerometer, there are cases that are sufficiently complicated to detect that there was no step but a distortion due to the shaking of the cellphone in your pocket.

Steps appear in red in the graphic

The steps in red refer to steps detected with very small signal but that were considered having correct amplitude due to the cell body being decentralized, causing large variation in signals read from the accelerometer.

Steps appear overlaid or disappear from screen

The Smart Step Pedometer constantly makes calculations to check if steps were missed or erroneously counted. When it is detected that is missing a pulse count, it automatically adds a step to the next step that occur. Likewise, it removes steps which have been defined as noise from accelerometer.

When I take a few steps, the step counter discards them

The Smart Step Pedometer does not count less than 10 steps per walk. This happens because when you find yourself "stopped", in fact the cell is shaken from side to side in your hands or pocket. These balances lead to false counts that will add to the actual count steps, so they are discarded if they do not reach a minimum of 10 steps in a given time.

At this early stage, the steps are yellow to indicate that they have not yet been confirmed. After confirmation, the steps become blue and are not discarded anymore.

The pedometer stops when you lock the screen

A good possibility to avoid this problem is by placing the Smart Step Pedometer Widget at one of the screens available. Thus, even if the system shuts down the main program, the widget keeps counting your steps and automatically saves to the main program.
